I have probably played Tribes 1 with some of you and figured this was a good place to look for some active gamers. I use to be a part of -$$- back in the day, but life got in the way and people moved on. I poked around the old -$$- forum hoping to find anyone still moving around and somehow it led me here. I don't know what ya'll mostly play, but I'm mostly into FPS and looking for new games to get into on PC. I'll check this thread occasionally and see what's up. Take care, Tux |

Tribes 1 or T:A? I have T:A installed but wasn't a huge fan of it, probably more because I didn't have anyone to play with. Also I run Win7 and for some reason the Tribes 1 fix for Vista/7 doesn't completely work. I have mouse "gridding" where it will only stay on the x/y axis and not go diagonal. |

I can download the game and everything, but the mouse issue is still the same. I can't keep the cursor at a constant speed and the cursor seems to "stick" to an x/y axis grid unless I flick my mouse to move it diagonally. I have an SSD coming in this week and I will try and find my old XP disc and duel boot just for Tribes 1. So what newer games are ya'll playing these days? I play a lot of CS:GO and some TF2. |

Also, does anyone have contact info for jINKS? Like an email or something? I loaded Xfire, and hardly anyone uses that now so I doubt he'll ever get on. |

So I got Tribes 1 back up and running on my PC. I had to dual boot it to run XP due to some issues I was having in Win7 with my cursor. It makes me realize how far gaming technology, especially PC, has really come because I remember trying to play Tribes 1 on dial up with a crappy computer, and now I'm running a rig with two video cards in crossfire, a fast processor, and a lot of RAM for this generation of games. ![]() After my config was setup, it was just like riding a bike. I played on the Br server which was the only populated Annihilation server, and was very impressed with the mod. It is a very nice mixture of 2.3+ mixed with 1.31 style fighting. As old as the graphics are, I still think Tribes 1 is still the best version of Tribes even if T:A has pretty graphics. Pretty graphics with terrible game play isn't worth my time. ![]() Also, I would like to host a spawn flag cap server at some point to play with some old T1 buddies, but honestly have forgotten how to setup a dedicated server. Is there a guide someone could link or at least a brief explanation? I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a server I can toss up and leave running from home. ![]() ![]() |

C:\Dynamix\Tribes\ISpawn.exe -mod [Insert Mod] +exec [Insert ServerConfig.cs] -dedicated Edit: Welcome back, BTW. |
